I apologize for not writing in Ukrainian; maybe someone could translate this and edit your "Brown Bear" page?
I am writing this because I saw "Golovna statya" in the Ukrainian Wikipedia on the subject of brown bears and, living in USA, I would like to add some clarification, as well as to add some additional information.
The clarification is: What is called "brown bear" in Europe, in America is called "black bear", since some individuals of that species are black. The "brown bear" in USA means both "Grizzly" and "Kodiak", closely related to one another.
My additional information is:
Grizzlies are brown in color, often with gray hair on their backs. Males can weigh up to 500kg. They look clumsy, but they can outrun a race horse when going uphill; downhill a man can run faster than a grizzly, due to grizzly's rear legs longer than front ones. The best (although non-scientific) characteristics is: "A grizzly is as mad as a devil, and as fast as a devil". If you see a grizzly from the distance of 50m, it can come to you in 2 seconds - you won't have a chance to shoot. On top of this, you can forget about aiming at the bear's head: the skull is very strong, flat and narrow, narrower than the distance between the eyes (the rest are muscles), and bears wave their heads around while running. Aiming at the heart is also hopeless when the bear is running toward you, and you would need a small cannon to stop an attacking bear dead. Moreover, it is common that mortally wounded grizzlies e.g. those shot through their hearts, keep attacking and will kill the hunter before dying. Plus, grizzlies do hunt people for food. All those grizzlies that can be seen in hunters' photographs have been killed from very long distances and from the side of the bear; when shot through heart unexpectedly, they drop dead immediately. However, experienced hunters say: "It is the dead ones that jump up and kill you". However, when a grizzly is excited, its adrenaline skyrockets, and it is next to impossible to kill it. Grizzlies (as "endangered species") are being re-introduced into American states of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado - not only into the Yellowstone national Park, but also into the forests neigbouring with farmlands an towns. Losses in farmers' cattle are inevitable, but the Federal Government pays compensations for cows, horses and sheep killed by grizzlies. People also get killed by them.
As bad as a grizzly is, their close relative Kodiak is even worse. Living at the Pacific coast of USA and in the Aleutian Islands (they used to live also in the Cschuchotka Peninsula, decades ago), Kodiaks have abundant supply of salmons and of other fish, which allowed them to have grown to much larger sizes. They are much larger not only than grizzlies, but even larger than white polar bears - the largest land carnivores on Earth. Kodiaks can be as tall as a bull, and weigh as much as 800kg. The largest Kodiak killed early in twentieth century was even bigger: 4m tall from feet to head when standing upright. Kodiaks are as fast as grizzlies are, and all-over, you would not stand any chance if you meet a kodiak. Although kodiaks and grizzlies have different Latin names, they are just the larger-size and the smaller-size populations of the same species of "brown bears" (not in the European, but in American nomenclature).

- Many thaks for your addiditives. Some pieces of this information is already included into the article, but other part is not precisely in it's format. Nevertheless, when we will start writing separate articles for different Ursus arctos subspecies, this will provide a great help.
