English: Hallway in the Ukrainian National Chernobyl Museum in Kyiv/Kiev. In European signage, drivers are notified of entering a town by a sign (usually black on white) with the place name. At the city limits leaving town, the same appears but with a diagonal stroke through the work. These signs are of towns which were disbanded for being too close to the site of the disaster. The use of the diagonal stroke is used as a visual wordplay, symbolizing both "You are now leaving..." of road signage and cancellation of existence. Above the signs are the authentic khorugvs from the abandoned village churches.The walls and cieling are hung with Ukrainian symbolic fabrics.
