Keres

ред.

Please don't add to article about Paul Keres that he was Soviet player, else You must also add the same for example for Ivantchuk, Ponomarev etc. etc. And he was Estonian citizen and occupation of country don't change that (international laws). Please remember that Estonia had never been part of the USSR de jure. -- Ahsoous 01:01, 31 грудня 2010 (UTC)Відповісти

Honorable user Ahsoous! I do understand your patriotic feelings, because it was wrongful period of missed freedom and independence in the common history of our countries. But let us face the truth: from the FIDE point of view Ivanchuk was Soviet player. Why? Because he was representing the USSR. Keres had been representing Estonia, but later he was representing the USSR too. So, please do not mix politics and chess. It is so beautiful game… Besides, if you are right, then wikipeditians would approve removing categories en:Category:Soviet chess players and de:Kategorie:Schachspieler (Sowjetunion) from English and German articles about Keres with pleasure. Would you try? This prospect seems doubtful to me… I hope for your understanding. Best regards, Friend 03:27, 31 грудня 2010 (UTC)Відповісти
