Рік Рубін (англ. Rick Rubin, повне ім'я Фредерік Джей Рубін (англ. Frederick Jay Rubin); народився 10 березня 1963 року) — американський музичний продюсер. MTV назвав його «найвпливовішим продюсером останніх двадцяти років»[1]. Засновник лейблів Def Jam Recordings і American Recordings.

Рубін вніс відчутний внесок у музику хіп-хопу. Він довгий час працював як «сірий кардинал» першої білої команди хіп-хопу — Beastie Boys. Сповідуючи досить оригінальний для того часу підхід, він прагнув до схрещенню хіп-хопу з хард-роком. Саме він звів хіп-хоп-гуру Run DMC з рокерами Aerosmith для запису синглу «Walk This Way», який став у 1986 році великим комерційним проривом для обох команд і тих музичних напрямків, які вони представляли.
Крім того Рік був одним з творців нового жанру ню-метал, що став дуже популярним, співпрацюючи з Linkin Park, System of a Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slipknot. Жанр вийшов вельми гнучким і представлений від треш психоделії Slipknot до альтернативи Linkin Park. Надалі Рік співпрацював з цим жанром частіше.
У 1990-ті роки Рубін нарешті зміг повною мірою реалізувати своє бачення «рок-хіп-хопу», працюючи з колективом Red Hot Chili Peppers, деякі альбоми якого він продюсував. Зробивши багато для популяризації рок-музики серед шанувальників хіп-хопу, він звернувся до співпраці з легендою кантрі Джонні Кешем і спродюсував його акустичні альбоми з серії American. У 2006 році випустив альбом жіночої кантрі-групи Dixie Chicks, який був нагороджений «Греммі» в усіх основних номінаціях («альбом року», «запис року», «пісня року»).
У 2006 році Рік Рубін працював з U2 над альбомом, який був запланований до виходу в наступному році. Але, випустивши 2 сингли, вони припинили співпрацю. На що вийшов в 2009 році альбомі No Line on the Horizon матеріали сесій під керівництвом Ріка Рубіна не використовувалися [3]. Крім того, в 2007 році Рубін працював з групою Linkin Park над альбомом Minutes to Midnight. Хлопцям так сподобалося працювати з ним, що вони записали з ним ще один альбом — A Thousand Suns, який вийшов в 2010 році, а також Living Things, що вийшов в 2012 році.
У лютому 2007 року з'явилися повідомлення про те, що записувальна компанія Columbia Records запросила Рубіна на пост віце-президента, запропонувавши йому багатомільйонний гонорар.
