ople cast the money that they gave to buy sacrifices.And many persons who were rich gave much. And there came a poor widowwho gave two mites, which were less than a penny. Then Jesus called hisdisciples to him, and told them that what the poor widow cast in, seemed moreto God than all that the rich men had given. For they, Jesus said, had muchleft for themselves, because they gave out of their riches; but she had nothingleft for herself, because she gave all that she had, even to live upon. The Pharisees tried to entangle Jesus in his talk, and they sent, and askedhim this question, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute to Csesar,or not? But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me,ye hypocrites? Show me the tribute money. And, they brought him a penny.And he said unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
